Miss Lynnie “B” Trouble (aka: Lynne Chwyl)

Lynne got her start at the age of 6, when one night her grandmother overheard her out in the cow pasture singing to a herd of 21 Holstein heifers. Soon after, “Granny” entered her in a local talent show (which she won). Throughout her early school years, Lynne won numerous talent shows and district county festivals. In her early 20s, Lynne started a family and over the next 25 years, did not perform at all.Lynne picked up her passion for performing again in her late forties, competing in voice competitions and performing on stages such as the Big Valley Jamboree, the Ponoka Stampede, West Edmonton Mall, and the world-famous STAX records stage in Memphis, Tennessee. She placed second in the Western Canadian Women’s Finals in voice and has been a repeat performer at the Beaumont Blues and Roots Festival and the Edmonton Blues Society Winter Festival. She also won a vocal competition that earned her a performance at the Calgary International Blues Festival. She was also the national anthem singer for the provincial Alberta Body Building Championships twice, Toastmasters Convention, municipal events in her hometown, and for her local Junior B Hockey team for 9 years.Lynne has been a member of many local bands and her own band - The Lynne Chwyl Band - won the Edmonton Blues Society’s “Memphis Bound Blues Challenge” in 2019, representing Northern Alberta on Beale Street at the “International Blues Challenge - 2020” in Memphis, Tennessee.Lynne has been invited on stage with notables such as Bruce Conte (Power of Tower), Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, MonkeyJunk, and a host of others. She has provided backing vocals on Living Blues Award and multiple Juno winner “Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne’s” CD, Inspired by the Blues, and has performed numerous times as a member (former) of the annual breast
cancer fundraising event “Edmonton’s Women of Song” – recording a single on the compilation CD under the same title.
Lynne’s singing career was put on hold during some difficult times and she wasn’t sure she would pick it up again, when a friend – (Echo Creek’s steel guitar
player, Brent Hanna - aka Dr. Fu), told her about an opportunity to return to her country roots and perform in a country band. Lynne jumped at the chance to be part of the exciting and diverse collection of musicians who call themselves Echo Creek.
